It’s Coming Back

It has been a long time since I’ve made a post and I apologize. Not much has really changed since my State of Apathy post back in 2017. The reassurance that I felt didn’t last long and I never picked up any new games. I still continued to play World of Warcraft and that allowed me to pass the time. I even managed to write a few articles at the end of 2017 and early 2018 about my Warcraft experience. I never made much headway in the end game, it all centered around making gold.

So what has changed? Well a lot actually. I have insurance again, I’m taking my medication again and I have a base line income. Things are looking better. I still suffer from depression and while it has gotten better, it’s still present. It attacks me more than it leaves me alone but it’s not a sever as it used to be. I’ve even started to play games.

Bloodstained

Bloodstained:Ritual of the Night

During the recent Steam Summer Sale I took a leap and bought Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. I was excited for the Kickstarter that was so many years ago. it was so long ago I had forgotten about it. It’s made by Koji Igarashi, one of the people behind one of my most loved games of all time, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Bloodstained looked to be exactly the kind of game I would love and to top it off the graphics were modern. It looked like an amazing sidescroller so I splurged and bought the game. I’ve been playing it ever since but it turns out I lost any kind of mojo I had. I found I was terrible at the game but that hasn’t stopped me.

Despite being bad at the game I pushed through. I haven’t spent a lot of time playing the game. I only play for an hour or two a day but so far I’ve put in 14 hours. I got the bad ending at about 6-8 hours. Since then I have been pushing for the other two endings. I think I’m getting close to the next ending. I’ve been enjoying it enough that I thought I might start playing other games. Not only that but it has prompted me to write this blog.

What’s Next?

I’m not really sure. I might write a review of Bloodstained. It’s not really a niche title, it’s very well known, so it seems a little silly to write a review. However it might get my writing going again so I might give it a try.

I’ve also bought a few other games during the Steam Sale, Age of Empires 2, Fate Tectonics and Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes. I may very well get motivated to play them too! If so I’ll make a post about playing them. I might even write a review or two.

So the site is not dead, but I can understand why people would think so. It certainly looked dead but maybe I’ll be able to bring back some life back over time.
